Learn to sail in Cape Town on a dinghy or better your dinghy sailing skills with Fergie's Sailing Academy, we are based at Imperial Yacht Club, Zandvlei, Muizenberg, Cape Town.
Zandvlei provides an ideal nursery for beginner learner sailors with a sheltered "duckpond" and the larger lake allows parents and spectators to watch the sailing from the clubhouse. The vlei is well suited to small boat dinghy sailing as the sailors learn to sail close to the clubhouse.
If you loooking for a family friendly venue to sit back and relax while your children learn to sail look no further. At Fergie's Sailing Academy we offer a range of dinghy sailing courses from "Start Sailing" (beginner/novice) to "Racing" (advanced)
We also have a Fun Holiday Sailing – Have you sailed or done a few courses? Do you want to just go dinghy sailing and get some time on the water during the holidays? This is a fun games only sailing holiday programme for those that want some dinghy sailing without a structured course.
What's more we have an "Adult Learn To Sail" dinghy sailing course – This is a combined "Start Sailing" and "Go Sailing" for over 18's and up.
All dinghy courses cover safety on and off the water, Boat preparation (Rigging and de- rigging), Knots, Wind and weather awareness, Life Skills such as - Social skills, Team work, Responsibility, Confidence, Problem Solving, setting and fulfilling goals, respect, etc. Geographical skills such as reading – wind, clouds, weather, etc.
